CHS Prom - June 8th

  • Prom will be Saturday, June 8th from 8-11pm at Olympia Golf and Country Club
  • Must have ID and ticket for entry into dance. No entry after 9 and no re-entry.
  • Students can purchase tickets before and after school, ten minute break and at lunch. Tickets will NOT be sold at the dance.
  • Tickets are sold individually
  • $35 with ASB 
  • $40 without ASB
  • Last day to purchase tickets is June 7, 2024, 3:45.
  • If you are taking a guest to Prom, please make sure and submit a completed Guest Pass form. Turn in the completed form with a guest ID to the front office.  Guest pass forms are in the Main Office, ASB Office and Athletics Office.  Must be attending dance with a senior.
  • Completed Guest pass forms are due by Wednesday, June 5th.
  • We are looking for volunteers to help chaperone the dance. Please email [email protected]. It's a really fun time and a great way to get involved in our school community!

Capital High School Parent Organization

Our last meeting is Tues 6/11/24, 530 pm in the Library.

  • We will vote in our 24-25 board and welcome new team members. 
  • Bring your ideas & strengths to build CHSPO stronger to support our students, teachers, & staff.

Did your student take an IB Exam?

  • IB Results will be available beginning at 5:00 a.m. on July 6th, 2024 at https://candidates.ibo.org.
  • Students may log in using the individual Personal Code and PIN they received from the IB Coordinator, Ms. Young.
    • It was on a red piece of paper and students were instructed to take a picture of it and text it and email to themselves with the subject “IB Login Info,” so check backpacks, texts, emails, and photos!
  • If you have any trouble with your password/PIN, try using Mozilla Firefox. Login codes are case-sensitive.
  • If you have tried all of the above and still have problems with the candidates’ site, email Ms. Young at [email protected].
  • If exam scores do not come out as hoped, students may apply to retake an exam or request a re-mark of exam components for a fee.
  • Contact Ms. Young (before the end of July for retakes or the end of August for re-marking) if you want to discuss either of these options. 

 

OSD Summer School 

Here are the Summer School Options:

 

Option 1: Olympia School District Summer School

Registration for OSD Summer School is now available.

  • Website: https://osd.wednet.edu/academics/summer_school
  • Dates: July 8th - August 15th. Monday -  Thursday from 9am-12pm (in person support). Tests must be completed in person during the available times.
  • Registration opens: June 10th
  • Earn .5 for each course complete
  • Costs: Credit Recovery = $150 Free/Reduced Lunch Credit Recovery = $0. Initial Credit (courses limited)=$150. Free/Reduced Lunch = $50.
  • Transportation must be provided by the student/parent.

Option 2: New Market Skill Center Summer School

Students wanting to earn Career and Technical Education (CTE) or elective credits should enroll in New Market Skill Center through Tumwater School District. 

  • Website: https://www.tumwater.k12.wa.us/Domain/1770
  • Dates: June 20th through July 12th. Monday -  Friday is 8am - 3pm. No school July 4th and 5th.
  • Registration is open now
  • Earn .5 elective credit or CTE credit (1.5 for Esthetician)
  • Cost: New Market is FREE unless the program has a specific fee. 
  • Transportation must be provided by the student/parent. 

You may also view your students’ graduation requirements in Skyward under “Graduation Requirements” as well as previous courses in Skyward under “Academic History.”

 

Musician, Game Designer, and Filmmaker student Connor Pratt Wins Twice

CHS student Connor Pratt captivated the audience and judges with his original music compositions and sound effects in Game Design and Film at the annual Advanced Media Entertainment Society (AMES) Super Showcases.

Both of his teams took first place. He also claimed the Outstanding Achievement Award for sound in both competitions.

Unified Prom

Unified Prom will be taking place at Olympia High School on June 8th! There are permission slips that are needed to be able to attend.  Please see the main office for permission slips.

Fine Notices

The district office recently sent home fine notices for all students. If your student has a fine for materials from schools other than Capital, questions about those fines need to be asked at that school. However, our ASB office can take payment for all fines, including those from other schools, or you can go pay at the site of the fine's origin.  

All library materials are due by June 12th.  Please return all textbooks, including novels for English classes, by the last day of school.  

 

Graduating Seniors - St. Martin’s Bus to Graduation

  • Does your CHS Senior need a ride to graduation?
  • Please use the link below and let us know if your senior will need a ride to St. Martin’s for graduation. 
  • This is a one-way trip to St. Martin’s. There is no return trip to Capital.
  • This is only for graduating Seniors.
  • Family and friends will need their own transportation.
  • Thank you for helping us get a head count so we can order buses. 
  • Please complete this form by June 9.

Summer Volleyball Camp

OC Summer Volleyball Camp will be held June 20th, 21st, 22nd at Olympia High School. High School Camp is from 9am-12pm for incoming 9th-12th graders. Middle School Camp from 1:30-4:30pm for incoming 6th-8th graders (incoming in the FALL 2024). Registration and payment must be made in order to save your spot. Space is limited. Sign up early.
