IB Diploma Pathways at Capital 2018-19

New Additions:

  1. A candidate (diploma or course) can test SL or HL in every subject
    except Psychology or Math Studies (Discrete) which are only SL.
  2. Theory of Knowledge is open to all students, and it is offered both
    during Zero Hour and during the school day.
  3. It should be noted that the Core 24 Requirement is waived for all
    IB diploma candidates as well as the High School and Beyond task, 2nd year PE requirement, and Occ. Ed. requirement.

Even if a student is only taking Chemistry at the standard level, they still need to have two years of Chemistry.

Reminder to achieve the diploma a candidate must:

 

  • Test in all 6 subject areas, testing in either 3 Higher Level and 3 Standard Level classes or 4 HL and 2 SL.
  • Achieve a total score of 24 points with at least 12 HL and 9 SL points; if 4 HL then top 3 HL scores and only 5 points necessary in SL.
  • Complete and pass both the Theory of Knowledge class and the Extended Essay.
  • Complete the Creativity, Activity, Service requirement.
  • Test in all 6 subject areas (a substitution can be made for the Arts), testing in either 3 Higher Level and 3 Standard Level classes or 4 HL and 2 SL.
  • Achieve a total score of 24 points with at least 12 HL and 9 SL points; if 4 HL then top 3 HL scores and only 5 points necessary in SL.
