Our Mathematics Teaching and Learning Philosophy
The Capital High School Mathematics Department believes that every student is a capable mathematical thinker who deserves access to meaningful, challenging mathematics. Our goal is not simply for students to memorize procedures, but to understand why mathematics works, recognize connections, select effective strategies, communicate their reasoning, and apply their learning in new situations.
