CHS 16th Annual Giving Tree - Donations Needed

Target gift card donations are now being accepted for our annual CHS Giving Tree to assist our students in need.

For the past 16 years, the staff, students, and community of Capital High School have spread holiday cheer to those students in need through the CHS Giving Tree.  We are now collecting $50 Target gift card donations for deserving CHS students just in time for the holidays.  Many CHS students are struggling to meet even their most basic needs. It is a blessing to be able to let these students know that they are loved and cared for by our school community.  For some, this may be the only gift they receive this year.  Last year, we served approximately 300 students through the Giving Tree program.

How to give: Please bring $50 Target gift cards to the main office or use this direct link (sponsored by our CHS Parent Organization) to donate: https://givebutter.com/capital-high-school-2026-giving-tree-rsouze

CHSPO News

Your small but mighty CHSPO (CHS Parent Organization) team has been busy working on a few exciting events:

1. CHS Staff & Teacher Appreciation Luncheon

Show our Staff and Teachers Some Love!

CHS Staff and Teachers show up for our students every day with commitment and compassion. Let's thank them with meals and treats. Any extra funds will be carried over to the Spring celebrations, ensuring your generosity continues to make an impact.

2. Teacher Grants

We received several grant requests from our teachers to help support their classroom with additional textbooks, equipment and supplies.  Please help us fund the grants by donating to CHSPO via the below link:

3. Graduation Night 2027

This seems like a distant future now, but we know time will fly and June 15th will be here before we know it. CHSPO has started some planning efforts and similar to prior years the event will be funded by the tickets sold.  Please purchase your tickets to help us plan headcount and venue.  Scholarships will be provided for students who cannot afford the ticket price. Please join the CHSPO meetings to help plan and execute the actual event.

Thank you to those who were able to make it to our Sep 14th meeting.  Our next meeting will be on Oct 12th, 6pm, CHS Library. If you wish to know more about the above events or help us with any big or small tasks, please join us. We need you! Current CHSPO team is made up of 4 senior student parents who will be gone next year and we are in need of Freshman, Sophomore and Junior parents to join and learn the processes for future years.  We promise to keep it fun and stress-free :)
