Senior Checklist

Step 1:  Meet with your counselor individually after September 23rd to review graduation requirements. See the email that your counselor sent to you to sign up for your appointment or go to the CHS Counseling Website. 

Step 2: After your counselor appointment visit the College & Career Readiness Center (CCRC) to learn about SchooLinks nad reviewing the High School and Beyond Plan requirements.

Step 3: Continue to check the Senior Information section on the CHS Website under the Counseling tab or our Instagram page. 

Step 4: Complete all graduation requirements, remain current in all coursework and in good standing. The graduation ceremony will be held at Saint Martin’s University on Tuesday, June 15th at 7pm.

Diploma Name Confirmation Form (GUARDIANS ONLY))

Your students name will be printed on their diploma as it is seen in Skyward unless this form is completed by October 15th. Contact Ms. Chipman (jchipman@osd.wednet.edu) in the Counseling Center, if you have any questions.

Ordering Caps, Gowns, and Other Graduation Items

Go to Jostens website for information on graduation  supplies such as caps, gowns, etc. Use this website to place your order. Order as soon as possible to get the lowest prices. The deadline is December 10th. The basic package starts at $62. Please see your Counselor if you need financial support. 

Students may also borrow a cap, gown, and stole if they do not wish to purchase one.

We are looking for donations! Last year we had 25 seniors who couldn't afford a cap and gown and had to borrow one. If you are able to donate please contact Rebekah Grods in our ASB office at 360-596-8071 or use the link below!

Yearbook Announcements

Baby pictures and throwback pictures due October 10th, summer/sibling pictures are due October 17th,and Senior portraits are due to the yearbook by October 31st. We will not be able to accept them after these dates.

Seniors Headed for College Next Year

  • Seniors planning to attend a 4-year college should read and follow the steps in the document “Checklist for Applying to College”. 
  • Check out local college fairs:  NACAC Virtual College Fairs and  PNACAC College Fair
  • Free/official transcripts are available through your SchooLinks student account. Make sure it's accurate! To view or print your unofficial transcript, follow these steps: OSD Portal - SchooLinks - Student - Record Request
  • The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) opens on October 1st should be completed by all Seniors who are planning to attend a 4- year university, community college, or technical college. For more information go to studentaid.gov. Students who do not qualify under FAFSA guidelines may fill out the Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA) by going to wsac.wa.gov/wasfa. We will be hosting a Financial Aid support event. See Flyer Below. RSVP in your Student SchooLinks account.
  • Scholarship information is available on the CCRC website.

College and Career Readiness Center (CCRC) Information

High School and Beyond Plan (HSBP) Requirement
  • All seniors must complete their tasks in SchooLinks.
  • All seniors must complete a senior exit interview (RUBRIC HERE)

SchooLinks (access through OSD Portal)
  • SchooLinks is used to complete all required tasks to meet the HSBP.
  • SchooLinks is used to process all transcripts and recommendation letters for your college applications. 
  • SchooLinks is used to sign up for college visits in the CCRC!!  Listen to announcements or check the newsletter sent out weekly to see who is coming.

Scholarship information
  • View the CCRC scholarship website for more scholarship information (will be continuously updated).
  • When you receive a scholarship, please notify Ms. Smith using THIS form. For non-collegiate scholarships, notify her right away. For collegiate scholarships, this should only be for the college you WILL be attending.

Non-CHS Sponsored Events

Grad Night: Grad Night is a long-standing Capital High School tradition that is sponsored by graduate parents. It provides graduates with a safe, fun, all-night celebration immediately following graduation. Students are bused to different locations for a night full of activities, allowing them to celebrate together in a supervised environment. This tradition helps reduce the risk of accidents and other safety concerns during a high-risk night for teens. Graduates return to Capital High School around 3 a.m.
