CHS Golf Fundraiser
Want to play a little golf to benefit the Capital High School golf? Then come help support the Capital Girl’s and Boy’s golf teams by spending a fall afternoon playing the Olympia Country and Golf Club. Anyone interested in playing on a team is welcome. The event is October 7th at 1pm. The golf teams are fundraising to help both teams for the upcoming season this spring. It’s a four person scramble and dinner. It should be a perfect fall afternoon, so we would greatly appreciate your participation and support. ASB/Athletics Office
Students: remember the ASB/Athletics Office is available before and after school, ten minute break and at both lunches. We do not help students during class time.
Counseling Center News
Schedule Changes: Schedule changes must be made within the first 10 days of school (preferably by Friday, September 15th)! After that it is final.
Attention Seniors: Stay tuned to your email around Sept. 20th for how to sign up for your mandatory Senior meeting with your School Counselor. At this meeting, counselors will review your graduation requirements, discuss/provide key information for college applications and career planning as well as answer all your questions about graduation!
CHS Library
The CHS Library Hours are 8:30 - 4:00 Monday - Friday, including Wednesday early release days. The library is also where students can bring Chromebooks with tech issues. We look forward to providing a welcoming comfortable space to your students this school year.
CHS Girls Bowling Team
- Have Fun! Improve your game! Hang out with nice people!
- Girls' Bowling is a Winter Sport open to all grades 9-12.
- If you are interested, drop by and introduce yourself to Coach Deakins in Room A12.
- Pre-season Team Meeting will be Thursday, September 26 right after school.
Washington State Fair Tickets
Students may pick up their free Washington State Fair ticket in the main office before school, during break, lunch time, and after school.

School Social Worker
Kim Senger is the Olympia School District Social Worker assigned to Capital High School. She can provide students and families with community and school based connections such as mental health referrals and resource navigation. Kim works in collaboration with our school counselors, administration, families/caregivers and community organizations to remove barriers and create equitable opportunities for student success. If families.caregivers or students have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call her or your students counselor.

Sea Mar Community Health Center
In an effort to support student wellbeing and mental health, Olympia School District has a partnership with Sea Mar Community Health Centers to provide mental health services. A Mental Health Therapist with Sea Mar will be onsite at Capital High School to provide ongoing therapy to students who are enrolled in their services. Sea Mar is able to accept clients who have Washington Apple Health plans. If you or your student is interested in hearing more about this service, please direct questions to your school counselor or Kim Senger, School Social Worker, at 360-239-7413 or [email protected].
College Fair
Attention Juniors and Seniors:
Thurston County PNACAC College Fair is going to be at Saint Martin’s University in Lacey, On October 4th 2023 from 6pm-8pm. It is Free and open to the public, PNACAC fairs connect you with colleges and universities in one convenient location. YOU ARE NOT GOING TO WANT TO MISS THIS EVENT. PLEASE Stop by the CCRC and talk with Mrs. Smith. If you want to learn more about this fair and register online here is the link: https://www.pnacac.org/tco-fair
College and Career Readiness Center News
- The College and Career Readiness Center (CCRC) is up and running. We will start having College visits in the CCRC starting next week.
- Please have your students review the College Visits in Naviance where they can then register for the events. The visits will be held in the CCRC, during their lunch.
- Attention Junior and Senior Parents/Guardians and Students:
- There are two College Fair opportunities coming up that are off CHS campus:
- The first opportunity will be the Thurston County Regional College Fair; it will be held at St. Martins University on October 4th 2023 from 6pm-8pm.
- The second opportunity is the National College Fair and this will be held in Seattle on October 6th and 7th 2023.
- Please feel free to contact Mrs. Smith in the CHS Career Center if you have any questions.
Alternative Lunch Space
Starting September 12th - Capitol High School will be opening an alternative space during lunches for students who are seeking a quiet space to enjoy their lunch period. The “Alternative Space” will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays, during both lunches, and located in E-1 next to the student store.
