CHS Game Design Students Participate in Annual Competition

Numerous CHS game design students participated in the annual AMES Game Design Super Showcase at Microsoft. The prompt this year was “The masks we wear.”


A record 64 games were submitted. The three teams below attended the event and presented their games, and the team that created “He’s Behind Me, Isn't He?” took third place. If you see these students, congratulate them! The linked games below can be played on itch.io.

  • The game He’s Behind Me, Isn’t He? was created by Kasen Bui, Jaxson Guerrero, Nathan Gage, and Troy Makhakha 
  • The game Masked was created by Landen Guthrie, Brody Rau, and Spencer James 
  • The game QuickSwap was created by Lex Lehr, Jonas Forgacs, and Ayden Tucker

 

Library Updates

All textbooks and library books used for this school year need to be returned by June 16th.  Please help your student clear items on their account each year.  Students can stop by the library if they are not sure what they have on their account.  


Special summer checkout of library books is available now.  Take up to 5 books home to enjoy.


Seniors can transfer the content of their student Google drive to a personal Google drive in just a few steps.  This document has a link to a Youtube video and written directions.  It was also emailed to students and parents earlier this week.  

 

CHS Yearbooks On Sale Now

  • CHS yearbooks are on sale for $65. Please see the ASB office to purchase a yearbook.

 

CHS Optional Summer Workout Registration

Optional summer workout registration is open. 


Please follow these following steps when registering your student:

-Students must be registered in final forms under Summer 2025-2026.

-Parents/Guardians along with your student, register at: https://olympia-wa.finalforms.com/ and follow the prompts to create your account.  You and your student must sign the forms.

-Upload a current sport physical to the portal.


No payment is required.  This registration is only for summer, ending July 31.  The portal will open on August 1, for Fall Sport Registration.


Coaches will not accept paper registration or physicals.  Everything must be taken care of online.


Free Sports Physical are on June 7.

 

Graduation Honor Cords

Honor cords will be on sale for $7 beginning Monday, May 19th in the ASB office.

  • Gold: 4.000 - 3.500
  • Blue: IB Diploma Candidate
  • Silver: IB Course Candidate

 

Senior Class Meeting Recap

If you missed last week's senior class meeting or just need a quick recap, the following documents will help you catch up and stay informed:


 

CHS Booster Club Cornhole Tournament Fundraiser

Please join us for the first CHS Booster Club Cornhole Tournament on Saturday, June 14.  

Here are some details:

Cornhole is a game where players toss bean bags into holes on a wooden board to determine who the best team is in the tournament.

  • Date and Time: June 14 th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Location: Capital High School
  • Participants: Open to all ages and skill levels, teams of two
  • Entry Fee: $100/adult team, $50/junior team (under 17)

 

CHS Health Room Update

If your student currently has medications at school please make arrangements for pick-up. We are unable to store these medications over the summer when school is not in session. Please pick up your student’s medications at the health office no later than June 17, 2025 at dismissal time. If your student has orders to self-carry their medication they can pick the medication up themselves. A controlled substance must be signed out by a parent/guardian. All unclaimed medications will be discarded unless prior arrangements have been made with the school nurse. Contact Nurse Joy at: [email protected] or x 8008.
