Anaïs Mitchell’s haunting jazz-laden folk opera Hadestown: Teen Edition, newly available for high school, is riding through Capital High School May 2nd, 3rd, 8th, 9th, and 10th!
SUMMARY: Winner of eight Tony Awards (including Best Musical), Hadestown invites audiences on a soulful journey through the underworld and back. This adaptation of the classic Greek fable intertwines two love stories: that of the optimistic musician Orpheus and his tragic lover Eurydice, and that of the lord of the underworld Hades and his immortal lady Persephone. The show’s beguiling melodies and vibrant ensemble pits doubt against faith, industry against nature, and fear against love in a haunting and hopeful theatrical experience that will never let you go. The Teen Edition is a full-length adaptation of the original Hadestown, now altered for general audiences so all can see this complex metaphor of myth, politics, and true love.
