Message from Our CHS Graduation Specialist
Parents/Guardians and Students,
This is a good time to review Skyward to review grades. If your student is failing a class and has no chance of salvaging that grade or has failed a class in the past, your student will probably need to make this class up. Summer school is a great way to make these classes up.
SAVE THE DATES for SUMMER SCHOOL:
- Summer school will be offered at a different location than CHS.
- Start of Summer Programs: Wednesday, July 5th
- End date: Thursday, August 10th, 2023
- Times/days: 9:00–12:00 Monday through Thursday
- Meal: no meals provided
Details will be posted to the OSD website in early June. Here is the link to refer to: https://osd.wednet.edu/academics/summer_school
If you are wondering what classes you will need to make up this summer at summer school, please contact your counselor. Here is the link to make an appointment with them: https://capital.osd.wednet.edu/counseling
Important Reminders
Students may not be in any CHS parking lot during the school day. Please make sure that you do not park in the upper staff parking lot area.
CHS Yearbooks
CHS yearbooks are still on sale for $55. Please see the ASB office to purchase a yearbook.
Annual Game and Film State Competition
For the eighth annual Advanced Media Entertainment Society (AMES.team) Film and Game Design Competition and Showcase students were required to make a film or game that used elements studied this year, from concept to design, and implementation. They competed internally at CHS and won the right to represent CHS and compete at this state-level event in Everett and Burien on May 20 and June 3, 2023.

DonorsChoose - Yoga Supplies
Liz House has a project on DonorsChoose to acquire yoga supplies to bring yoga classes to students here at Capital for years to come. Considering the rising rates of anxiety and depression among youth and the proven benefits a mindfulness practice such as yoga has on mental health, she feels compelled to freely donate her time and energy to create the content of the classes, teach, and organize. These classes will be offered for free and whenever possible during the school day. She is a certified yoga teacher with more than 30 years of yoga practice. All she needs is a little help with supplies. Email [email protected] with questions. Donations of any amount are appreciated. Thank you!
Health Room Update
- The Student health Information form for the 2023-2024 school year is available on Skyward to fill out. If you could fill it out before May 15 so that we have time to make Health plans for next year that would be great. We like to have a new form each year in case health conditions have changed since the last time we had a form filled out.
- Please inform your school nurse of any new health conditions or concerns. Students with severe allergies, diabetes, asthma, or seizures must have an Emergency Care Plan and physician's orders on file. Physician orders and appropriate forms are required if your student needs to take medication at school. Unless we have these forms, the health room cannot provide medication of any kind to students.
Tutoring Now Available
- Tutoring and Homework Help will be provided in the CHS Library every Wednesday from 2:40 to 3:25. Support for all subjects will be offered. Students are encouraged to bring their chromebook and any assignments they would like additional support to complete.
