Creating--Expression Rubric

A 4-point response:

The student demonstrates a thorough understanding of how the expression of ideas and feelings can be used in the design by meeting all of the four task requirements listed below:

  • includes the name Earth Club in the design
  • uses Visual Arts Elements to create a logo in a promotional piece for the Earth Club that supports the mission
  • uses Visual Arts Principles of Organization effectively to create a logo in a promotional piece for the Earth Club that supports the mission, and
  • includes relevant details that effectively capture the nature of the club’s mission

A 3-point response:

The student demonstrates an adequate understanding of how the expression of ideas and feelings can be used in the design by meeting three of the four task requirements listed above

A 2-point response:

The student demonstrates a partial understanding of how the expression of ideas and feelings can be used in the design by meeting two of the four task requirements listed above

A 1-point response:

The student demonstrates a minimal understanding of how the expression of ideas and feelings can be used in the design by meeting one of the four task requirements listed above

0

A 0-point response:

The student demonstrates no understanding of how the expression of ideas and feelings can be used in the design by meeting none of the four task requirements listed above

 


 

Responding--Communicating with a Purpose

A 4-point response:

The student demonstrates a thorough understanding of the deliberate use of artistic elements and principles to communicate for a specific purpose in the response by meeting all of the four task requirements listed below:

  • describes clearly what was used as the Earth Club logo,
  • explains clearly why this logo was selected,
  • explains accurately three VIsual Arts Elements and/or Visual Arts Principles of Organization used to create a logo, and
  • explains clearly three changes made to Visual Arts Elements when creating the second version of the design
