        3. Take a screenshot of the bass tracks in GarageBand, upload to Flickr and embed into your blog
        4. Export the bass tracks from GarageBand as an .mp3, upload to SoundCloud and embed into your blog post
        5. Describe why you like the bass line

Week 10 (April 11-15)

  • Wed: Publish the Sound Library in The Sound FX's Project

      • Remind students that each student will add under the Sound Library heading the following:
        • Screenshot from Flickr of the GarageBand file of ten sounds
        • Soundcloud clip of the sounds
        • A list of the ten sounds and what you want them to sound like
    • WEDO
    • YOUDO
      • Edit the sounds into one mp3 in GarageBand
        • Edit the files so that they play one after the other quickly, about one second apart
      • Upload the mp3 file to Soundcloud and embed in the blog post under the Sound Library heading
      • Embed a screenshot from Flickr of the edit screen in GarageBand
      • List the sounds in order that we hear them in the mp3 file
  • Tues: Work on Sound FX's Project
    • Warm Up
    • IDO
      • Introduce The Wind Rises Earthquake clip for the Foley part of the project
      • You will use this to create your own sound design
      • Discuss fair use and copyright
        • "Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use." 
      • You will create an audio disclaimer at the beginning of the video clip as well to make sure you intentions for educational use is clear

      • Connect with your sound effects team
      • Review the team work sheet with ten sounds you will try and capture
      • Decide which teams will work with Foley and which will continues gathering sounds
      • Continue recording the sounds
