Knowledge Bowl

What is Knowledge Bowl?

Knowledge Bowl is Capital High School's academic competitive team. Knowledge Bowlers compete against other high schools in the region. Knowledge Bowl competition involves three teams of four to six players per team. Teams are asked questions by the Reader/Judge from categories such as History, Literature, Math, Science, Geography, Current Events, Civics, Etc. Teams ring in to answer questions and have 15 seconds to collaborate and provide an answer. Correct answers earn points. Accumulated points for the day determine team placement for the competition. The top three teams in area meets compete in a playoff to determine first through third.

We meet for practice on Thursdays from 2:30 - 3:45. Practices begin the last Thursday in September and continue through the season and as long as we compete in the playoffs. Meets are the 2nd Saturday from November to January.

All CHS students are welcome. We strive to create a fun, competitive community where we challenge ourselves and laugh while doing so.

Come stop by Room B-1 any Thursday from 2:30 - 3:45 (October - February) and see what all the laughing is about.

Knowledge Bowl as a Club

Knowledge Bowl also meets as a club on club days at CHS (usually every other Thursday between 2nd and 3rd periods) in Room B-1. We meet as a club all year. All students are welcome. Attending during club time is a great introduction to the activity. It is not required to be on the competitive team to join us during club time. If you are looking for a club that has lots of fun and is a great way to meet other students, this is probably a great place for you!
