GOAL FOR THE YEAR

  • Once a month, instructors will decide on one activity to incorporate or evaluate into the curriculum from the SkillsUSA PDP manual or other SkillsUSA resource
    • If activity went well, team may align to 21st Century Skills and add to CHS SkillsUSA leadership curriculum

REVIEWED ACTIVITIES

  • William reviewed Level 1.6 Activity - Defining The Customer
    • Students learned about the internal and external customer
    • The extended exercise to interview business person about their customer
    • Can be taught any time throughout the year

DATABASE OF JOB INTERVIEWS and MORE

  • We could create a twenty question list for an interview
  • Students could interview professionals and create a slideshow, video, and podcast

PDP ONLINE

  • Allison shared the digital activity submitle process that she had a student complete
  • It cost $5 per student
  • Discussed how we need to have participation for ALL students
  • Some of the leadership activity could be great sub day activities
  • IDEA: Career research could be

SKILLSUSA CAREER READINESS CURRICULUM

  • Reviewed William print out of the SkillsUSA
  • Discussed the structure of the activities
  • Aligned to Common Core and 21st Century
  • Along with the worksheets (that are online and William printed out) - there is also a coordinating PowerPoint (online) to go with them
  • Great 21st Century Skills resource but, obviously, also meets your goals for Skills USA in the classroom to supplement your CTSO
