Community College

Training at a community college can be specific job related training (associate of technical arts, certificate programs) or include classes which will count toward a transferable degree to attend a four-year college (associate of arts, associate of science). Four-year public and private colleges in the state of Washington have articulation agreements with the community colleges to accept such credits. Community colleges with their smaller class sizes, variety of offerings, and lower tuition costs may be a good alternative for some students for the first two years of college. If your goal is to transfer to a four-year university, the expectation is that you are entering "major ready." It is important to have communication with the school and know what prerequisites you need to have completed.
