Culminating Project

SAMPLE CP PROPOSAL FOR PORTFOLIO OPTION (use as an example) CP Class Presentation ScheduleBeginning with the class of 2008, seniors will be required to successfully complete a Culminating Project. The Culminating Project is a new Washington State graduation requirement. It is designed to give students a chance to demonstrate they have the skills necessary to succeed after high school graduation by creating and completing a self-directed project of their choice. The project will require meaningful research, the creation of a product or event as an outgrowth of that research, the sharing of the project with others, and a reflection on the learning process.
The Culminating Project is intended to be a self-selected project that demonstrates student competency in selecting, planning, researching and presenting an independent project. Students are highly encouraged to select and complete a project that has a high degree of personal interest.
This year the Culminating Project will be organized through your Advisory! Your Senior Advisor is also your CP Advisor. In Advisory meetings students will receive information and guidance regarding the Culminating Project. The Culminating Project components include a Proposal, Product, Product Write-Up, Presentation and Reflective Essay.E-mail Ivy Marple at imarple@osd.wednet.edu
