Mandatory Supplies
- Supplies to
occasionally take notes in class, and to do project write-ups
- If we make it to wet photography there is a $25 Lab fee to pay
for supplies that the student will be taking home film, photo paper, mat boards, negative holders, etc. Wet photography would come at the end
of the term or at the beginning of the next class.
Optional Supplies
- USB flash memory
drive (Thumb Drive)
- Access to a burnable CD to back up work if wanted
Class Overview
- We will be doing
beginning work in a number of areas, which include but are not limited to,
Graphic Design, Web Design, Photography (digital and wet), Basic Composition of sound. We use the
following software programs:
- Photoshop
- Illustrator
- Garage Band
- Flash
- Dreamweaver
- iMovie
- Our projects
range from 1 to 3 weeks in length, and are usually presented in class
mid-week.
Grading
- Grades for
Projects are based mostly on meeting the requirements of the project (which are
posted on the board at the time the assignment is given) and a little on quality.
- Being on time is a also a major component.
- Projects
not turned in on time will have 10% deducted from the grade.
- Overall Grades
for the class are determined on this scale:
- Homework 10% - This includes a class participation
score is given each week
- Final 10 % - Students must present a portfolio of
ALL their work on finals day
- Leadership 10% - a paper is written the first week and
other points throughout the term
- Projects 70% - This includes all the projects that
are assigned through out the term
- We suggest that
you sign up for family access. You
can then see the current grades of your students in all of their class
